[birdky] Ohio River at Louisville, 11-03-02

Less activity on the Ohio River at Louisville (both in terms of birders and
birds) on November 3, 2002.
Observed between the lower gates of McAlpine Dam and Six-mile Island were:
1 Common Loon; 10 Horned Grebes, 2 No Pintail; a few Lesser Scaup and
Ring-necked Ducks; 1 imm/female Surf Scoter; 3 Red-br Mergansers, 6 Hooded
Mergansers, 1 Ruddy Duck, and at least one Forster's Tern. Gulls numbers
had increased from last week with about 1,000 in the general area
highlighted by 670+ Ringers at the Falls of the Ohio and 200+ Bonies below
the lower gates of the dam. Added to this would be all the regulars . . . .
as well as a couple of flyover Am Pipits.
