No major rarities.
Oct. 13. Caperton Swamp, Louisville. Slow, but migration isn't over.
Warblers: 2 orange-crowned, Nashville, common yellowthroat, black-throated
green, and of course yellow-rumped. Also: Blue-headed and white-eyed
vireos, ruby-crowned kinglet, Swainson's thrush, chipping sparrow, house
wren, and yellow-bellied sapsucker.
Oct. 14. Pine Mtn. State Resort Park. Ruffed grouse along roadside, 8:40
a.m. Two wood thrushes and a palm warbler. Blue-headed vireos, including
some singing.
