[birdky] Anyone else noticing a lot of quail this year?

Quail around my area have seemed to decline markedly in the last few years.
Much of this is due to clean farming and other land use practices. This year
I have seen what appears to me to be a dramatic increase in quail numbers in my
area. Last month, I counted 28 quail in one covey in the fencerow beside the
house. This morning I had 3 separate coveys sounding off at daylight within
1/4 mile of my house. I can only wonder if the dry spring weather and
subsequent dry summer may have greatly increased nesting success. Anyone else
noticing a lot of quail this year?
