[birdky] The latest around the yard and feeders

Hello again!

For the past few days, there has been an abundance of Rose-Breasted
Grosbeaks hanging out at my platform and hopper feeders. I have seen at
least 8 individuals (5 males, 3 females). I'm sure there are more.

Woodpeckers are everywhere!
-There is a male/female Pileated couple that visits the yard and surrounding
yards on a daily basis all the while calling back and forth.
-I spotted a Northern Flicker in the open grass of the yard.
-Hairy Woodpecker
-Downy Woodpecker
-Red-Bellied Woodpecker (I even got to see his red belly as he flew to
another branch!)

Either a Downy or a Hairy was drilling a new hole beside my window on the
house (guess one isn't enough). I only saw her back and only breifly before
she took off. I'm inclined to say she was a downy due to size, but I'm not
positve.

The Red-Breasted Nuthatches are checking out the feeders as are the
White-Breasted Nuthatches.

Tufted Titmice are everywhere, as are Carolina Chickadees, Northern
Cardinals, and American Robins (of course)

Mourning Doves have finally discovered the feeders and are sticking to
beneath them rather than on the platform

A Northern Mockingbird discovered the bird bath and has since visited every
morning for a drink. After the visit yesterday all the others around
decided it was safe to use.

The House Finches have found the platform.

And a Gray Catbird has been mewing from the neighbor's trees.

Oh... can't forget to mention the Blue Jays and Crows that screech all day
:)

I have spotted several yellow birds, but I cannot... for the life of me...
figure out what any of them are. I keep thinking I'm remembering/writing
down enough details to spot them in my field guide, but I have yet to
identify a single one. Is there a trick to this? Warblers, vireos... too
much yellow!!!

No sign of any raptors hanging about yet!
