[birdky] Interesting bird singings

This morning the song of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak falling on my ears stopped
me in my tracks, I paused and listened for a spell...then (clearly from the
same bird) there followed an unexpected strain, then.... the usual strains of
the Northern Mockingbird! His rendition of the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak song was
utterly fabulous! He even had most of the tone quality. I wanted to applaud
him!

An individual White-Throated Sparrow was doing some pretty individual
take-offs on the usual song pattern and interspersed within the usual song. He
probably did about four different really unique variations (not counting
truncations as variations). Like a familiar song you still recognize on the
radio but being "jazzed" up by an individual performer.

  Best birding wishes,
  Ben Albritton
  Lexington
