Interesting day in Hart County. I saw my first sharp-shinned hawk of the fall
and moments later I saw another one chasing a Cooper's hawk whch was carrying a
captured pigeon in its talons!

A personal milestone...I passed my # 400 ABA bird on my way to 417 during a
recent jaunt to the southwest. We went to Big Bend National Park in Texas; even
in the "off-season", it's incredible. Amazing birds, amazing scenery and
hiking. Vermillion flycatchers, Mexican jays, and common black-hawks! I would
certainly recommend it as a destination.

Good birding,
Steve Kistler
Hart Co.
