On Sunday, October 16, we birded Mammoth Cave National Park and totaled 45 
species that included 9 species of warblers. It is always nice to have park 
rangers around but this nice ranger sure turned up at the wrong time. We were 
in a 
remote area of the park off of highway 70. We were watching this skulking 
bird in the bushes when a ranger riding a bicycle comes upon us and was 
wondering 
what we were doing back there.  It sure is hard to drop your binoculars and 
answer his questions when you are looking at a Connecticut Warbler. We did get 
a nice look at the bird and it was a life bird for Eddie, Jennifer and Anne.

Bay-br. Warbler - 2
Redstart - 1
Ovenbird - 1
Connecticut - 1
Common Yellowthroat - 1

Rose-br. Grosbeak - 3
Eastern Towhee - heard

Sparrows -
Chipping - 4
Swamp - 1
White-thr. - heard
White -crowned - 4
Junco - 3
