Eddie and I birded Black Acre Nature Preserve in Jeffersontown this morning in
preparation for the Beckham field trip on October 9.
The highlights of the trip were:
Warblers:
2 Nashville
2 Magnolias
7 Black-throated Greens
2 Black & White
1 Ovenbird
Other birds of interest were:
Several Scarlet & Summer Tanagers
2 White-throated Sparrows (our first for the season)
1 Ruby-cr. Kinglet (our first for the season)
Several flickers
2 Red-eyed Vireos
1 Philadelphia Vireo
1 Wood Duck
Eastern Bluebird
Brown Thrasher
Several Female Indigo Buntings
While pishing we were mobbed by chickadees and titmice which attracted a
ruby-cr. kinglet and a black-throated green.

Good birding!
