Hoping for good weather, I headed to the fish hatchery.  It certainly wasn't
the sunny day that was predicted but at least it wasn't raining.

The 3 large "ponds" that you see from the road and many of the smaller ones
have been drained. Therefore no Bald Eagles or Osprey.....or hawks for that
matter.    I was hoping for more than what I found but it wasn't a complete
wash.   On an interesting note, there were 3 Northern Flickers that harassed
the Kestrel on two occasions and I saw a juvenile Red-headed Woodpecker
(first I've ever seen there).  The shorebirds were extremely skittish and
were constantly looking overhead and flying off.  I never could see anything
but they were considerably more wary than I've noticed in the past.

2 Pair of Gadwalls
