Yesterday morning I saw an accipiter perched atop a light pole overlooking the
prairie patch by one of my ponds. I have seen either this same individual or a
number of other similar individuals frequently since late summer, but never
before on such an open hunting perch. I would have reported before but kept
thinking I would wait till I could get a definite ID of Sharp-shinned or
Cooper's.
