The Ky Society of Natural History met in Henderson this past weekend. Myself
and others led a number of field trips in the area. Avian highlights of
which I am aware include the following:

JJ Audubon State Park -- at least 2 Pine Siskins and an Orange-crowned
Warbler on the 23rd. House Wren and Bald Eagle at the "Audubon Swamp" just
north of the Park on the 23rd.

Sauerheber Unit Sloughs WMA & vic -- 22nd: dowitcher spp along KY 268 w/
commoner shorebirds; 23rd: 10 No Pintail; pair of Bald Eagles near their
nest, a relatively late E. Wood-Pewee; Sedge Wren; No Rough-winged Swallow
[buckets of rain in AM]; 24th: good numbers of shorebirds scattered on pools
of water including Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs; Least Sandpiper;
Pectoral Sandpiper (40); Dunlin 50-75); Stilt Sandpiper (at least 5);
Long-billed Dowitcher (5); Wilson's Snipe (25+).

Downtown Henderson: adult Peregrine Falcon chasing the local Rock Pigeons on
23rd.
