[birdky] Selasphorus Hummingbird
- From: Arthur Ricketts <asricketts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

- Date: Mon, 27 Oct 2003 11:22:58 -0500
Last Thursday (10/23/03) at c. 11:30 we spatted a hummer at a feeder
that was not a migrating Rubythroat & soon determined ,with the help of
Sibley's guide, that it was either a Rufous, or an Allen's adult female.
It is the first Selasphorus we have seen in the 17 years we have lived
in Berea & an exciting bird for our home list. Paul Hager came over to
confirm our diagnosis.
It has made daily appearences through Sunday (10/26/03) but we have not
seen it today.
I did post it last Fri. PM but sent it to an old birdky address so it
didn't appear. Sorry.
Art & Tina Ricketts, Madison Co.
