Robert Dever and I spent an enjoyable day birding the
KY/Barkley/Smithland area with the following
highlights:
SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER 2 below Barkley Dam
COMMON TERN 13 below Smithland Dam, 9 above Ky Dam
COMMON MERGANSER above Ky Dam with injured wing
LAUGHING GULL 2 above Ky Dam
FRANKLIN'S GULL 6+ above Ky Dam
The lakes have risen and the mud flats have
disappeared. There was a single Black-bellied Plover
at Blood River looking for company.
