kathy, i am a novice with a capital N> in the birdwatching arena. I have
been living in Bracken County. KY since 1997, and I have seen numerous
interesting birds, such as, green herons, king fishers, etc. and one I simply
haven't been able to identify. Actually, a few. I live in an area that
supports wetland, field and usual feeder birds. I do not recognize them by
birdsong. As i said, i'm new at this. I am fairly intimidated by the obvious
wealth of knowledge and experience of the other respondents, and wonder if i
am in the wrong place. I am originally from Cinti., but have been in KY for
nearly 25 years. Not out here until the last few years. The wildlife and
birds here are wonderful, but perhaps i am beyond novice experience here. If
so, please direct to a more suitable site if you can. My enthusiasm
certainly exceeds my experience in this area. In any event, please let me
know if I should direct my inquiry to a less sophisticated site, and if so,
what that would be. Obviously, you guys are so much more experienced than I.
And I don't know if I belong here. I love birds and birding however, and you
were the closest respondent. I work in Cinti., so the Florence/Erlanger area
is not so far away. Thanks for you help and guideance. Diane @
