FreeLists / birdky / [birdky] Coopers & Red-shouldered Hawks - Interesting Locations

I though it might be of intrest that a coopers hawk resides in the
single large tree in my front yard near the intersection of Southern
Parkway and West Woodlawn Avenue. It took Mike and I awhile to
determine what it was as we kept finding white and tan barred and
white body feathers, brown flight feathers and pellets underneath the
tree. A few days ago we spotted it calling in a large tree in the
backyard with a nighthawk that it had killed. The neighbord
accidentially scared it when trying to get a look at it and it flew to
the tree in the front yard. Atleast we know what scares birds away
from out feeders now.

Also, when out driving to run some errands I saw a red-shouldered hawk
fly up from the ground next to the ramp to I-65 from the Watterson
Expressway heading east just past Critten Drive.
