On Saturday I went with ASK to Raven's Run. There was not a great deal of
activity, but it was a gorgeous day and the company was good. We had Screech
Owls to answer us on 3 different occasions; I believe different birds.
Swainson's Thrush 1
Tennessee Warbler 1
Nashville Warbler 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1
Magnolia Warbler 5-6
Black-throated Green Warbler 3-4
Palm Warbler 1
Black-and-white Warbler 1
American Redstart 4
Ovenbird 1
Common Yellowthroat 1
Rhonda and I hiked 6 plus miles in the Red River Gorge Sunday. A number of
unidentified Thrush were briefly seen on the wing. 3 Red-breasted Nuthatch were
heard but not seen. Several nice flocks of warblers were observed with the
majority going unidentified due to distance and the persistence of the birds to
be very active. Of interest were the number of birds singing which included
Yellow-throated Vireo, Worm-eating, Black-and-white, and lots of Hooded, Pine,
and Red-eyed . I found 1 White Oak acorn on the path.
Tennessee Warbler
Nashville Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Magnolia Warbler
Cape May Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Blackburnian Warbler
Pine Warbler
Bay-breasted Warbler
Blackpoll Warbler (I think)
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
Hooded Warbler
