An adult bald eagle flew from an island within Little River Bay yesterday
followed not far behind by an osprey carrying a fish. The osprey stopped
following the bald eagle and did a
"skydance" while calling. The osprey was probably simply excited by the
presence of the eagle or maybe concerned that the bald eagle might be a threat
to its catch.

The 350 Am. white pelicans that replaced the large no. of Caspian terns at
the mid-lake island so. of Little River Bay were gone yesterday. A few C.
terns flew past the island headed south near roosting time. Great egrets
continue to fly along the LBL shoreline headed north near roosting time.
