A beautiful (is there any other kind) male Mourning Warbler presented itself this morning at Berea Woods. It seemed relaxed and poised as it flitted around leisurely, eye high, about 30 feet from me, affording great views.
Despite the MW, the birding was about as slow as I've ever experienced it at Berea Woods. A few warblers--hooded (plenty), a magnolia, a parula, a couple of more I couldn't pin down. Pileated, red-headed woodpecker. Summer tanager. Empids, a great-crested, phoebe, pewee. Y-t vireo, w-e vireo. Some other regulars.
The butterflies were abundand. The famous Tillie the dog was there and kept me company.
