Barry Hart and I conducted a TVA shorebird survey today on the mud flats.
We hiked in ankle deep mud to reach the birds at Blood River. Jonathan Creek
still has more water than mud but birds were accessible by scope.
Birds of interest were:
Osprey
Wood Duck
Blue-winged Teal
Snowy Egret
Little Blue Heron
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Lesser Yellowlegs
Solitary Sandpiper
Spotted Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Wilson's Snipe
Herring Gull
Caspian Tern
Forster's Tern
