Ben and Mary's juv/first-winter Great Black-backed Gull remains at the Falls of
the Ohio as of mid-day today. Also observed during a relatively brief visit
were 2 Buff-breasted Sandpipers, a Baird's Sandpiper, and 15 Caspian Terns.
The Melco MSD basin is still hosting almost all of the shorebirds that have
been present during the past week including the Willet, White-rumped Sandpiper,
and Baird's Sandpiper. Only new additions today were 2 Buff-breasted
Sandpipers. The water level has really dropped recently and there are now only
scattered pools, but the habitat remains good. It will probably dry up in the
coming week without rain.
