[birdky] weekend warblers

The following are some highlights from weekend visits to Middle Creek Park in
western Boone County. Visits were made on the afternoon of the 2nd, the
afternoon of the 3rd, and the morning of the 4th (Northern Ky Bird Club field
trip). Saturday afternoon was quite good in both numbers and diversity but
things slowed down dramatically the following two days. High numbers with the
appropriate dates are included.
Blue-winged Warbler 1 9/4
Tennessee Warbler 6 9/2
Nashville Warbler 1 9/2
Northern Parula 2 9/2 & 9/4
Chestnut-sided Warbler 12 9/2
Magnolia Warbler 8 9/2
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1 adult male on 9/2
Black-throated Green Warbler 1 9/2 & 9/4
Blackburnian Warbler 3 9/2
Yellow-throated Warbler 1 9/4
Prairie Warbler 1 9/3 & 9/4
Bay-breasted Warbler 1 9/3
Cerulean Warbler 1 9/3
Black-and-white Warbler 6 9/2
American Redstart 5 9/2
Kentucky Warbler 1 9/2 & 9/4
Common Yellowthroat 3 9/3
Canada Warbler 1 9/2
Other sightings included many Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Yellow-billed Cuckoo,
Acadian Flycatcher, a few Empidonax, Swainson's Thrush (a high of 4 on 9/4),
Wood Thrush, three species of vireos (White-eyed, Yellow-throated, and
Red-eyed), and both tanager species.
