[birdky] Red-breasted Nuthatch Campbell Co.

One female Red-breasted Nuthatch was gleaning seed from Norway spruce cones
as well as foraging for insects in the oaks at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate
today. Looks like there is a good crop of spruce cones this year. The white
pines are also loaded with cones but these have opened and may have dropped
many of their seeds already. Here's hoping for a good winter for RBNUs,
crossbills etc. in Kentucky, as we are about due (depending on what the cone
crop
is like to the north).
