[birdky] BKY: PAINTSVILLE LAKE

A Sunday morning walk turned up little of note. One Pied-billed Grebe
was viewed as it swam under water; the minnows were all that broke the
placid surface. A groundhog feasted on fallen chestnuts. A Tennessee
Warbler sang for us. In a quest to determine if the Mute Swans seen in
the winter were resident or migrant, I saw none of the nine.=20
On Saturday in Salyersville 2 groups of Common Nighthawks were moving
south in a fashion that reminded me of leaves caught up in a whirlwind.=20
I added a Solitary Sandpiper to my backyard bird list. This is due to
the construction/destruction to the hay field (to a school yard) just
beyond. Hooray for progress.=20
