Met Ed and Carlyle Manous at Ky. Dam to look for their life Long Tailed Jaeger. 
 When I arrived they had not located the bird.  We looked for a while and 
decided to get a boat and get serious and also get a great look when we found 
the bird.  A traveling woman birder, Doris, from Kansas had stopped at the pull 
off and met up with Ed and Carlyle and she was so excited at the possibility of 
a lifer that she joined our adventure and we ended up renting a pontoon for 
half a day. (4hrs) If you do go by boat take some bait from the Marina. The 
boat drew the bird to us. I am sure they are used to getting rough fish from 
fishermen and trash off of boats that's thrown in the water. We found the bird 
in our last hr.  It was up at the dam flying at the highway and then came 
directly to us and flew around our boat for several minutes a couple of times 
and we had marvelous looks and it decided to get aggressive and chased a 
Ringbilled gull. Every field mark was noted, plus..... Rent a boat and have a 
ball. It does help if someone is on the dam and you can communicate with them 
about the whereabouts of the bird.  But pack a lunch, etc and have a Jaeger 
party. I am sure the marina will be happy to accommodate you.
