The KOS/Beckham Bird Club field trip was held this past Sunday at Mammoth 
Cave National Park. Twelve people observed waves of warblers in the 
afternoon at the Echo River Spring area of the park. The highlights of the 
trip included:

Warblers:
Blue-winged (1) beautiful male
Golden-winged (1) female
Tennessee -many +++
Nashville
Northern Parula
Chestnut-sided
Magnolia - several
Cape May (4)
Black-throated Blue (1) female
Yellow-rumped (1) sad but true
Black-throated Green
Yellow-throated
Pine
Bay-breasted - many++++
Black-and-white
American Redstart - a few adult males
Worm-eating
Common Yellowthroat
Hooded - male

Also observed were many Scarlet and Summer Tanagers, Wood Thrush (2), and 
several Cedar Waxwings throughout the park. At least three Eastern 
Screech-Owls were heard calling during the trip.
On sad note, a young Bobcat was found as a roadkill on one of the main 
highways of the park.
