Mary Walter, Roly Lloyd and Beth Cuzio and I searched for birds in the 
Kentucky/Barkley Lake area this weekend.   The highlight of our weekend was the 
RED 
PHALAROPE that remained on the Jonathan Creek mud flats in Marshall County 
this afternoon.  Brainard joined us this morning for close looks at the bird 
and 
a few photographs to share.

Common Loon -2
Snowy Egret 
Little Blue Heron
Wood Duck
Northern Shoveler -1
Osprey
Bald Eagle
12 Species of Shorebirds including:
Semipalmated Plover
Lesser Yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Sanderling
Semipalmated SP
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Baird's Sandpiper-2
Pectoral Sandpiper
Wilsons Snipe
Gulls and terns
Laughing Gull
Herring Gull
Caspian Tern
Forster's Tern
We managed to squeak in a few warblers.   Highlights being Golden-winged, 
Blackburnian, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Tennessee,  Chestnut-sided, 
Magnolia, 
Black-throated Green, Yellow throated, Black and white and American Redstart.
I ended the weekend  sitting on the dock at Blood River watching 40 young 
Lesser Yellowlegs settle in for an evening meal.  Fall is here and the 
shorebirds 
seems glad the lake level has dropped.
