Matt Stickel and I had a slow morning at Caperton Swamp, but ended up with a
decent list.
Warblers: black-throated blue warbler (first-year female; don't typically
see them here), yellow-throated warbler, common yellowthroat, n. parula,
ovenbird, black-throated green, blue-winged, blackburnian, b & w,
bay-breasted, Wilson's, Am. redstart, chestnut-sided, and magnolia (most
common). No idea where the Tennessee and Nashville warblers were. We've
also had a few golden-winged and pine warblers in the past week.
Also: Philadelphia vireo, several Empids (including possible
yellow-bellied), sharp-shinned hawk, wood thrush (not common at this spot).
