[birdky] Shore Birds @ The Falls

This evening Colleen and I enjoyed the cooler weather and were able to locate
some additions that weren't present at 1:00-2:00 PM to the fossil beds.
Birds of Interest:
Western Sandpipers - 6
Spotted Sandpipers - 10
Caspian Terns - 24
Bonaparte Gulls - 2
Ring-billed Gulls - 4
Great Egrets - 40+
Great Blue Herons - 20+
Black-crowned Night Herons - 80+
Nighthawk - 1 (though we saw about a dozen at the Falls last night)
The lower gauge is at 14.7 feet and Wave Rock is currently under water. The
prediction is that it will go down to 12+ feet in the next few days, hopefully
providing better habitat.
