Hi Joe,

You can report purple martin roosts on the Purple Martin Conservation
Association's website, www.purplemartin.org
<http://www.purplemartin.org/> The PMCA folks could probably answer
your questions too.

Subject: [birdky] purple martins

For the past few weeks I've been seeing purple martins flying over my
house in the evenings. I decided this week to try finding their roost.
Tonight I found it! A 6-8 acre white pine plantation probably 15-20
yrs. old. There were clouds of martins descending on the roost at dusk.

Question - where do these thousands of birds come from? Can they
possibly all come from Fayette County? Seems unlikely.

Unfortunately, I live in a new subdivision that is about 50% developed
and this pine plantation is soon to be destroyed for the development.
