[birdky] Berea Redstart

Rhonda pointed out a female American Redstart on Sunday morning's walk in Berea
Woods. I suspect it is a migrant; I haven't seen any summering redstarts there
nor think there would be. There was considerably more activity than on last
week's sultry outing, but nothing else unusual.
I have been taking note of acorns, etc. I have found one white oak species
tree with acorns, a dwarf chinquapin, I have not seen a hickory nut, walnut, or
persimmon in the Berea woods either. There is a Scarlet Oak (I think) just in
side the fence there that has a good supply of acorns; it should prove to be
the center of considerable action this fall.
