Saturday morning I was awaken by the sound of a lone whip-or-will. I've never
heard one this late in the season. It sure sounded lonely!

The peaches are gone at my Dad's and so seem the Baltimore Oriole that loved
to peck holes in the peaches. Fall is nearly here. I told Dad about seeing a
large number of Common Nighthawks (he calls them bull bats) last week and he
said, six weeks to frost...Guess when you are 76 you see patterns or you feel
it in your bones. He marked it on his calendar so we will see if he is right.

  Happy birding!
