[birdky] RPT: Little Stint update

The short story of the Little Stint update is that the bird was still present
at dusk this evening. The longer story is that while it was present all morning
and even after a brief but quite unnerving visit by a juv. Peregrine Falcon at
about 2:00 ... it was NOT seen for more than 5 hours after the same Peregrine's
second visit about 2:45 when it successfully took out one of the Pectoral
Sandpipers for a late lunch. It took over an hour for things to really settle
down after that, but the bird was nowhere to be found until Mike Todd spotted
it preening (it must have just flown back in from another site) about 8:15 as
the sun was setting.
Some of the local bird club is meeting back at the site tomorrow morning at
9:00 am and will likely be there only until about noon. This means the gate
will be locked after noon tomorrow. During 9 to noon, if you wish to come by
the site, please follow the instructions posted today about closing the gate
behind you upon both entry and exit of the site. Parking again will only be on
the wide paved area near the small brick pumphouse building.
If the bird continues tomorrow, I am going to check on the possibility of
Saturday morning access and post about that on Friday.
