I had originally planned to spend the day birding
Barkley and Kentucky Lakes, but there was almost no
shorebird habitat due to lake levels which appeared to
have risen somewhat and it didn't take long to look
throught the gulls.  A few birds of interest were
observed and are listed below.  A stop at Paradise in
Muhlenberg County on the way home yielded some
interesting birds which are also listed below.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (adult and 2 juvs)

KY DAM W/ HAP
Pied-billed Grebe

SMITHLAND W/ HAP
Caspian Tern (8)
Black Tern (5)

BARKLEY/GREEN TURTLE BAY
Herring Gull (adult)

PARADISE/TVA LAKE
Blue-winged Teal (80+ adjacent impoundment)
American White Pelican (4)
Gr. Egret (12-15)
BC Night-Heron
Piping Plover
American Avocet (4)
Caspian Tern (12)
Forster's Tern (21)
Black Tern (2)
