Something about atmospheric conditions this morning allowed the Doppler
radars to pick up excellent signatures of bird roosts departing night-time
roost sites in Kentucky and Tennessee; it won't last long, but if you are at
your computer and can pull up the Short Range Loop for Louisville or Paducah
(perhaps other sites in region, too), you can see multiple doughnuts move
out from at least nine sites on the L'ville radar and five on the Paducah
radar, including a likely wader or martin roost down near Dyersburg, TN.
Someone like Jeff Wilson who watches these regularly might be able to
speculate on the makeup of various roosts, but it is REALLY neat.
