[birdky] SWALLOW-TAILED Kite 8/31

The Swallow-tailed Kite offered this birder a morning display. I arrived at
the end of S5 around 9:15am to see the bird soaring overhead. It continued to
kite around the area for close to an hour. It eventually flew toward the
power plant where it joined a few vultures and disappeared from sight.
Brainard and I searched the skies later in the day but never relocated the
bird.
Morning seems to be the time of day to see this beauty.
Other birds of interest were:
Osprey
Least Sandpiper
Pectoral Sandpiper
Lesser Yellow-legs
Caspian Tern
Bell's Vireo
Henslow Sparrow
Grasshopper Sparrow
