The SW Kite and I are just not on the same schedule! Looked for 3 hours at the
end of the day FRI and nearly all day SUN with no luck - then looked from 5 pm
until dark tonight - no luck!
Did find:

kestrel (at least 6)
redtail hawk (at least 2)
harrier (at least 2 fe. and 1 male)
osprey (at least 2, saw one grab a 4" fish and abscond w/ it!)
sharp-shinned
coopers hawk (probably 2, 1 sparring w/ redtail)
imm bk crowned night heron (at least 7)
4 snowy egrets (and many great)
gr. bl. and green herons
kingfishers
WESTERN SANDPIPERS (at least 3)
pectoral, semi-palm, and least sandpipers
pair of blue grosbeaks
2 coveys of bobwhite (one had at least 3 male and 1 female, the other had at
least 3 individuals)
martins and barn swallows
kingbirds
HENSLOW SPARROWS (a number of these everytime I went to the end of S5)
field sparrow
tv
CASPIAN TERNS (2)
goldfinches
field sparrow
dc cormorants
rb gull
road kill barred owl
greater yellow legs
killdeer
house finch
cardinal
red wing blackbird
indigo bunting
meadowlark
rt hummer
c yellowthroat
mallard
can goose
SEDGE WREN (n. side of lake at end of S5)
crow
MS KITE (only 1)
dove
hairy, downy, pileated woodpeckers
(hairy was unusual - brown shoulders and head, but otherwise normal)
swifts
towhee
pewee
mockingbird
cedar waxwing
jay
chickadee
car. wren
b-g gnatcatcher

Great area - am sure species list would be longer if not for main focus being
kite hunting - I am in OH this weekend, but if it is re-found, please post -
maybe I can get back out there from FT Knox next week.

Also - are the bobwhites out there released birds or are they "countable"?
