A check of the Ky/Barkley  area on 18 August yielded
the following highlights:

Common Loon           3 Above Ky Dam
American Black Duck   Devil's Elbow   Barkley
Sanderling            juvenile at Kuttawa/Barkley
Spotted Sandpiper     Kuttawa
Ring-billed Gull      several hundred scattered
Herring Gull          3 adults above Ky Dam
Forster's Tern        35 at Jonathan Creek/Ky
Caspian Tern          approx. 75 scattered on Barkley

The Kuttawa heronry was swarming with Cattle Egrets
with many adults still making feeding trips.  Good
numbers of Little Blue Herons with several calico
immature birds and a few Snowy Egrets were also
present.

Petros Pond in Warren County hosted the following
migrant shorebirds on 18 August:

Least Sandpiper  8
Pectoral Sandpiper 2
Solitary Sandpiper 1

Today, 19 August, Petros Pond hosted 10 Least, 4 Pecs,
and 1 Semipalmated Plover.  Two Solitary Sandpipers
were present at Meng's Pond in Warren County.
