I have always found interesting how early passerine migration begins. It is
impossible to determine this in an area as large as Mammoth Cave NP etc, but
very easy in a small isolated woodland like Lost River Cave Valley in the
middle of humanity. I observed the following species of warblers not known
to nest in the valley this morning:
Blue-winged Warbler (1) first fall
Yellow Warbler (1) adult male
Prairie Warbler (2) first fall females
Black-and-White Warbler (3) fall adult male, first fall male, and first fall
female
Worm-eating Warbler (1)
Kentucky Warbler (3)
