[birdky] Barn Swallows, no right time to mow

There is a Barn Swallow nest with babies in my stable. This is later than
usual. I guess that after being fooled into raising a Cowbird they decided to
stay late and try again. There are 4 adults taking care of this one nest. They
all have a particular spot on the power line in the yard that they use as their
headquarters. In previous years they had a certain spot on the phone line they
liked to sit but the phone line is underground now.
I put off clipping until nearly tobacco cutting time hoping the meadow
nesters would all be done. I still had indications from adult behavior that I
may have disturbed 2 Dickcissel nests and 2 Meadowlark nests. I later found one
unharmed Meadowlark nest with young and an unhatched egg that I had passed over
without harming. An adult Bobwhite was exhibiting the same defensive behavior
but it had 5 or more young that were big enough to fly out of the way.
