At 4:50 AM CDT this morning I raced out the door(alarm did not go off at 
2:50 AM like I had it set)to view the Perseus Meteor shower. Saw one streak 
acoss the sky from my back yard. My destination was a high hilltop
a few miles down the road. By the time I arrived there was the rosy glow of 
the impending sunrise. I did not see any more meteorites but I
heard faintly the song of a Whippoorwill. Total birds at 5:10 AM loud
and clear:

3 Whippoorwills
1 Vesper Sparrow
1 Rufous-sided Towhee (Eastern)
