It all depends on what you call a good picture. I get results that are good
enough to suit me (most of the time) hand holding my camera about a half
inch from the eye piece of my scope. (Nikon cool pix 995 camera, Pentax
PF80-ED scope) Some of the pictures posted recently on Mark Bennett's
birding web site http://www.ornithology.logan.k12.ky.us/default.htm were
taken this way. Mark also has some other pictures I have sent him that he
has yet to post. For some reason or other Mark thinks he has to spend time
doing the job he is being paid to do instead of dropping everything the
minute some of us send him pictures to post.
It was by Dave Roemer's recommendation that I bought the cool pix. I
cursed him while gnashing my teeth trying to figure out how to get our
computer to recognize the camera. (It turned out that the USB port was
disabled).
