Environment for the Americas
Project Coordinator
Environment for the Americas (EA), a growing non-profit, seeks a
full-time Project Coordinator to assist with the daily responsibilities,
as well as take the lead on existing and new programs.  EA's mission is
to provide education to audiences throughout the Western Hemisphere
about shared resources and to motivate actions to conserve these
resources, with a focus on birds.  EA is the home of International
Migratory Bird Day (IMBD), a 15 year-old international program that
provides education materials, the framework for public events and
festivals, and information about birds and the many ways the public may
be involved in bird conservation.

The ideal applicant will have both small business and education
experience, as well as science-based knowledge of birds and conservation
issues.

This is a 12-month, full-time position with continuation dependant on
funding.

Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
Proven skills in working with the public and developing partnerships,
including strong telephone and writing skills, and the ability to give
public programs and presentations.  Candidate will be able to work on a
variety of projects, including addressing the daily needs of a growing
organization.  Good organizational skills and a collaborative spirit a
must.  Experience writing and designing education programs helpful.
Salary will be $28,000-$32,000, based on experience.

Specific Duties Include:
o     Development of web-based materials and educational content.
o     Development of IMBD outreach and education materials.
o     Support of the IMBD Sales program, including handling phone
requests for materials, reviewing new products, and maintaining
inventory.
o     Program development and expansion, including working with
organizations across the Western Hemisphere to encourage participation
in IMBD, workshops, and bird conservation.
o     Assistance with the preparation of proposals.
o     Periodic public programs and presentations at bird festivals,
conferences, and meetings.
