Lake levels are low enough now to have a bit of shoreline for shorebirds.
Saturday morning the following were seen as we kayaked around the island at
the back embayment.
Pectoral Sandpiper - 2
Killdeer - 48
Wood duck - 3
Little Blue Heron - 1
Great Egret - 2
Green Heron - 2
DC Cormorant - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 2
Purple Martin - 30+
Mississippi Kites are being seen again this year around Clarks River NWR in
Benton, KY.
