[birdky] OT, camera advice.......compact super zoom maybe?

I've been shopping for a digital camera and would like to know if anyone has a 
camera they really like and would share their experience, pro and con. If you 
have a compact super zoom, I would really like to hear about it because that's 
what I'm thinking would suit me best

Criteria:
    Easy to use
    Good outdoor photo capability
    Good zoom, 10X or better....maybe with the ability to add a filter to the 
lens
    But, here's the catch, small and light enough that I won't hesitate to 
carry it along whenever I go on a long hike, which means it shouldn't be much 
more than a pound in weight
