[birdky] Sooty Terns at Kentucky Dam 15 July 2005

At least three Sooty Terns were still present above
Kentucky Dam as of 9:00 this morning including a
juvenile. Scott Record and I viewed them from
Lighthouse Landing which is the sailboat marina
accessed from hwy 453. The birds materialized from
the fog flying downstream toward the dam after
approximately 2 1/2 hours of searching, then worked
their way back upstream only to vanish in the mist.
The dam, Lighthouse Landing, and Kentucky Lake Drive
would be good places from which to search for these
birds this weekend, and much patience may be necessary
to find them.
