Had some time to kill this afternoon waiting for a delayed plane to land in
Louisville. The Falls of the Ohio seemed like a good place to spend it with
the dreary remnants of Hurricane Dennis right on top of us ... and the Falls
was almost like old times :o)  A dreary day without Peregrines and people
may be the key to still having a decent day there. List of waterbirds
observed:

Canada Goose (15-20)
Wood Duck (2 broods)
Mallard (1 brood) + ca 12 adults
Red-breasted Merganser (female)
Great Blue Heron (probably an all time high of 70+ including juvs)
Great Egret (10)
Green Heron 1
Black-crowned Night-Heron (75+ including juvs)
Turkey and Black vultures (15-20 of each)
Killdeer (6)
Greater Yellowlegs (5)
Lesser Yellowlegs (5)
Willet (22 total; sort of in two loose groups of 10 and 12)
Spotted Sandpiper (3 including a full-grown juv in fresh plumage)
Western Sandpiper (1 adult in worn alternate plumage)
Ring-billed Gull (1 ad)
Common Tern (1 adult in immaculate alternate plumage ... a REALLY nice
looking bird!)
