  I birded the Ano Strip Mine area (Delorme Atlas page 69 block 7- F & G) 
yesterday and found good
numbers of Grasshopper and Henslow's Sparrows present. Henslow's were bringing 
food in to the nest
and at least 2 juv. birds were seen.

  Most of the area is private property with no trespassing signs posted. I have 
permission to bird
the area and the list below includes both public and private lands.

  To reach the Forest Service portion, which has both Grasshopper and Henslow's 
Sparrows using the
grassland:  From the junction of Hwy. 461 and Hwy. 80 east of Somerset go east 
on Rt. 80 for approx.
3 miles and turn right on 1675, go 3.8 miles and make a right, staying on 1675, 
go 1 mile and turn
left on Acorn Ano Rd., go 3.2 miles and turn right on Bolthouse Ridge Road 
continue to the strip
mine area, watch on the left for the Wells Cemetery Road the next road on the 
right that's not gated
will take you to the Forest Service grassland, which is on the left.
