[birdky] Coopers vs Martin

It took a great deal of patience to pull off the element of surprise the
Adult Cooper's Hawk achieved at the Purple Martins roost this morning. As many
as
1500 martins are now gathered in the cypress trees at Crappie Hollow. Out
of nowhere a Cooper's Hawk scattered the birds and was in pursuit of a young
martin. This was quite a task since the hawk had to come across open water to
reach the birds. The martin swearved and flew low. Mr. Cooper's returned to
the woods without breakfast. The chase happened as I was perched in my kayak
watching the martin's. What a way to start a day!
