Hi All,
Things have been muggy, hot, and slow here. Seen/heard the past week:
WOOD DUCKS, LITTLE BLUE HERON, GREAT BLUE HERON, BARRED OWL, BOBWHITE,
HORNED LARK, E MEADOWLARK, GRASSHOPPER SPARROW, VESPER SPARROW, FIELD
SPARROW, BROWN THRASHERS, COMMON GRACKLES, B & W WARBLER, CERULEAN WARBLER,
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, AM REDSTART, EASTERN KINGBIRD, EASTERN WOOD PEEWEE,
PHOEBE, RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, WB NUTHATCH, SUMMER TANAGER, E BLUEBIRD, HOUSE
FINCH, C CHICKADEE, C WREN, PILEATED WOODPECKER, DOWNY WOODPECKER,
RED-BELLIED WP, ROUGH WINGED SWALLOW, TREE SWALLOW, CHIMNEY SWIFTS, RT
HUMMINGBIRD, WOOD THRUSH, WILD TURKEYS, ETC. And, of course the usual yard
birds!
We also have been graced with the presence of 34 monotropa uniflora (Indian
Pipes) underneath the pine tree beside our sidewalk!
