[birdky] Martins & Bewicks

It seems early but the Purple Martins are gathering here. We have this
same occurrence every year; in the evenings other martins are joining
our resident ones. Last night about 150 were trying to go to roost in
our 12 room martin house. About dark they depart for other
accommodations, but they will be back tomorrow night.

Anyone that would be interested in going to see the Bewick's Wren in
Harrison Co. I can give directions. It is about 70 minutes from
Lexington. I actually had heard him a couple weeks before, but didn't
recognize the alternate song and took it for a varying House Wren. I had
three wren species calling at the same time in the same yard.

I cannot email straight to birdky so Rhonda is forwarding this. Please
respond to this email: smarsh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
